Food Access:

Fresh, local and healthy food should be available to all people, regardless of their means. Food assistance programs at farmers markets help build bridges to greater food security and improved nutrition for lower-income individuals and families. Read below for more details on each program.

SNAP Match

Our market accepts SNAP EBT (formerly known as food stamps). We accept SNAP EBT and Summer EBT from any state.

 

Plus, customers using SNAP get up to $40 free when you spend $20! We TRIPLE SNAP purchases dollar for dollar up to $20— meaning you could get $60 worth of food for only $20 from your SNAP account.

 

How it works:

    1. Come to the market information booth (orange tent), swipe your EBT card
    2. Purchase at least $20 in SNAP tokens
    3. We’ll give you an extra $20 in SNAP Match tokens AND $20 in Double Up Food Bucks
    4. SNAP Tokens can be used to purchase produce, meat, eggs, cheese, bread and more! Double Up Food Bucks can purchase fresh produce, mushrooms, herbs and plant starts.

Customers using SNAP: Do you need help getting to the market?

Gorge Grown Food Network will provide a free annual GorgePass to anyone using SNAP benefits at the farmers market. 

What’s a GOrgePass? The GOrge Pass is an annual pass connecting the four transit services of the Gorge into one system. You can take unlimited, seamless, fixed route rides on four transit providers: Columbia Area Transit (including the Columbia Gorge Express), The Link Public Transit, Mt. Adams Transportation Services, and Skamania County Transit. 

Shoppers can access the market from various stops in : 

*White Salmon/ Bingen services begin 6/22/2024.  

Tips:

  • Be sure you’re looking at the weekend schedule for these services when planning your trip.
  • The closest bus stop to the farmers market is right across the street! Get off at the Columbia Area Transit stop on 5th & Cascade Ave!
    • Effective 7/1/2024 the 4th & Columbia stop (just one block away) will be relocated to 5th & Cascade (right across the street).

Farm Direct Nutrition Program: WIC & Senior Checks

All produce vendors at our market accept WIC & Senior Farm Direct Nutrition Program benefits. This program provides eligible families and seniors an additional source of nutritious food and education on selecting and preparing fresh produce.

Power of Produce (POP)

The first 20 kids to visit the market information booth (orange tent) will receive a free $2 token to purchase fresh fruits or vegetables from a local farmer.
