Hood River Farmers Market
April 4, 2020 @ 2:00 am - 6:00 am
An event every week that begins at 2:00 am on Saturday, repeating until November 21, 2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic:
Farmers markets are essential. Governor Kate Brown and the Oregon Department of Agriculture has declared Farmers Markets Essential Services, just like grocery stores, and that’s how our market will operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To be clear, this is not a social outing. We are urging customers to come, shop and head home. Keep conversations and transactions short. Wave ‘hello’ to your neighbor and keep moving.
We will be limiting the number of customers allowed in the market area AND waiting to enter. If we need to ask customers to come back later or wait in their parked car, we will. Safety is our top priority and will only open the market as long as we feel we can keep our community, vendors and market staff safe.
Our open-air market provides a key access point to local food for our community and relieves stress on grocery stores. High-quality nutrient dense food is more important than ever. The incredibly short supply chain from field to market means a lot less hands are touching your food compared to what’s available at the grocery store.
Hood River Farmers Market accepts SNAP EBT (“food stamps”) and provides an additional $10 free for customers using their benefits at the market.
