We're going to be building a deer fence and are looking for posts, fencing, smooth wire and other fencing supplies that are unwanted and unloved in piles around your farm.
Posts: 10' foot and longer, 4" - 6" diameter. Pressure treated or not. Some interest in t-posts.
Fencing: Lengths of woven wire and high tensile wire. Willing to remove if the condition and price is right.
Tensioners, insulators and the what nots: yup, need some of those too.

Spring is just around the corner and it’s time to start making your planting plans! Looking for a low-maintenance alternative for your landscape? The Hood River Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is still taking orders for our annual native tree and plant sale. We’ve got a great selection of native plant species at fantastic prices!
Why plant with natives? Because native plants are adapted to living in our unique climate, they require less water, fertilizer and other inputs to maintain. So planting with natives saves you time and money! Not to mention the benefits of enhanced wildlife habitat, soil stabilization and water conservation that you’ll enjoy.
We offer a variety of native conifers, deciduous trees and shrubs. These bare-root seedlings are 1-2 years old and will be delivered to the SWCD in early April of 2010. The orders will be filled in the order in which they were received, so get your requests in soon to ensure availability.
Check out our website at www.hoodriverswcd.org to download your order form and gather information on plant descriptions and site suitability. Tree and shrub orders can be placed now by mail, e-mail (hrswcd@gorge.net) or phone (541-386-4588). You can also stop by our office at 3007 Experiment Station Rd in Hood River, for more information or guidance when making your selection. Purchases will be available for pick up on Friday and Saturday, the 2nd and 3rd of April, 2010.

Fresh From the Farm has its brewed worm casting tea available just in time for planting season. Worm castings have natural plant growth hormones that will help with successful seed germination and plant growth. The naturally occuring beneficial microbes help guard againast damping off, powdery mildew and a host of other maladies as well as repell aphids, spider mites and other pests. Plant available nutrients in worm castings are higher than in any other fertilizer, manure or compost. Forget the chemicals this year! Go Green with worm casting tea. Worm castings in any concentration will not burn plants. Safe around children and pets. $5 for concentrated one gallon (can be diluted to 2 gallons). Bulk amounts and bulk prices available. Great for green house situations, fields planting, orchards and vineyards too. Contact us at waconverse@yahoo.com to ask questions or to make arrangements for purchase.
